Celebration Sunday was June 11, 2023. It was the Christian Education Ministry’s opportunity to thank our Sunday School teachers, acknowledge the students, and celebrate our 2023 graduates.
As always, the service was followed by good food and fellowship during Coffee Hour. We are thankful for all the ways God is blessing us and working through us.
After years of COVID social isolation, we were finally able to have our Ladies’ Spring Tea on May 6, 2023. The ladies dressed in their spring finery, had their pictures taken, enjoyed delicious food, listened to delightful music, and were inspired by our speaker, Dr. Adelaide Sanford.
Proceeds from the tea went to the OLPC general fund.
On 2/19/23, we had our Black History Celebration. We looked marvelous in our colorful dashikis and other African garb. The children told us about famous African Americans and sang the song “Oh Freedom.” Following the service, we had a Soul Food coffee hour. All the food including: fried chicken, potato salad, greens, black eyed peas, corn bread, and sweet potato pie left us full and smiling. The celebration was sponsored by the Christian Education Ministry. Photos by Denise Tucker.
