The cookbook contains 94 recipes from 40 of your neighbors, who included notes on why the recipes are special to their families. It includes recipes for vegans, vegetarians and those who want to eat gluten-free or dairy-free.

The new  East Oak Lane Cooks  cookbook has arrived just in time for holiday gift giving and will be available for sale at OLCAA’s 9 th annual holiday Blood/Coat/Sock Drive.      The cookbook contains 94 recipes from 40 of your neighbors, who included notes on why the recipes are special to their families.    It includes recipes for vegans, vegetarians and those who want to eat gluten-free or dairy-free. The cookbook is being sold for $10 while supplies last; the money raised will fund neighborhood activities.    The purchase price includes one free download of the cookbook for your phone or notebook.

We will be accepting:  Gently worn coats (any style, any size, adults and children) scarves, hats, caps, gloves, and mittens.  The clothing will be distributed to needy families at the Germantown Ave. Crisis Ministry, Germantown & Chelten Aves.

If you don’t have any winter-wear, please consider bringing new socks for adults. They will be donated to Senior Citizens at the nursing homes in East Oak Lane  and to homeless men at Whosoever Gospel Mission on Chelten Ave.

If you are a blood donor, please don’t wait to get a phone call from us.  Just call  Peggy Weston at 215-224-4547 to schedule an appointment, though appointments are not necessary.

If you need to drop off your coats earlier than Dec. 8, please call 215-224-4547 for an alternate drop-off site.

Advance orders are being taken for East Oak Lane Cooks, a limited number of cookbooks are available.  You can reserve your copies by calling the OLCAA HotLine (215-224-2777) or by sending an email (olcaa.eol@gmail.com; SUBJECT:Cookbook) with your name, address, phone number and the number of copies.
